Recorded in 2006, this CD features Rosen's bari
sax and his group the Sweet Thunder Jazztet, with Paul Beunig
on trumpet adn flugelhorn, Dave Davidson on keyboard, Fred
Johnson on drums, and Scott Baekeland and Gregg Carpenter on
bass. All the tunes are originals in the cool jazz
style. Jazz Improv Magazine called it "a solid outing
that would make Jeru proud.", and "Rosen all but
channels Mulligan." (Of course Jeru is the nickname
given to Gerry Mulligan by Miles Davis.)
Other reviews have said: "This is a stellar
group that has the right idea with superb arrangements and
outstanding soloists." and "The music is new and contemporary
yet reminiscent of the Mulligan sound."

The Rio Chama Trio CD "Soul Space" features Rosen on
clarinet, along with Brian Fitzgerald on piano, and Lennie
Tischler on bass. Also, Julie Stewart sings wonderfully
on a couple of tunes. This CD was recorded in 2004 in
Santa Fe, New Mexico. One reviewer called this
"Refreshing and clear as mountain air. Immediate, personal and
close up jazz."
Here's an excerpt from "Water's Edge", by

Rosen played with the group Deuterium in San Diego. This
CD was recorded in 2001. Yascha Suseoff played keyboard
and wrote many of the tunes. Gregg Carpenter played bass,
and Dean Filip played drums. Rosen plays bari, soprano
and tenor here. This CD is only available here at Dancing
Hippo Music.
